The Merge is Complete!
Ethereum has successfully transitioned to Proof of Stake (PoS), which positions Ethereum as environmentally more friendly and is an effort to achieve better scalability and economic sustainability.
What does it mean for Connext? Is there anything you need to do/know?
As a user: nothing. If everything proceeds as expected, you won't notice any difference between both your assets and the way Connext Bridge works.
Connext is going you support the canonical PoS Ethereum chain only, and not any fork.
As a router: There are no extra risks in providing liquidity on top of the risks that the Merge presents. In case of initial reorganizations of the chain and Connext transactions consequently failing, your capital might end up locked for up to 72 hours.
As usual, there is no way for the Connext protocol or core team to recover/arbitrary withdraw any asset, as Connext is completely non-custodial and truly trust-minimized.
The Merge, L2s upgrades, and finally Amarok coming alive soon. The future is bright for Ethereum and Connext Network.
